Repelling Space
Depression seems to build a kind of repelling space between you and the people you care about. Maybe today is what I need—rejection, a look inward.
A thought came to me: in every post-psychotic depression1 I've had, I never did my homework. I couldn't. So the only way out was to start working. It works, but it doesn't touch the cause.
1 Post-psychotic depression: Depression that follows a psychotic episode. Common, debilitating, and often overlooked. The psychosis burns through your life; the depression is what you wake up to in the ashes. Homework becomes impossible because meaning itself has collapsed.
